Hello Fellow Hipsters,

I’m the “mom” half of our little partnership. I’ve been interested in history since I was a child. I grew up in a rural area of middle Georgia. There was always a garden to tend to every summer and lots of produce to put up for the winter. On those hot summer days with buckets of peas and beans to shell, my mom and I would pass the time watching old movies on the TV. I fell in love with the 1930s and 1940s. WWII became one of my favorite eras. That love eventually led to a degree in the subject. While life has taken me on many adventures since that time, I have never lost that love of history. I still find myself gravitating to stories from bygone times searching for hidden gems of knowledge from our past. I’m proud to have passed that appreciation of the past on to my kids and I hope to bring that same excitement to all of you.

Hello Hipsters,

I am the “son” portion of the mother-and-son duo known as History Hipsters. My love of history started as a child, thanks to my enthusiastically supportive mom. As a child, my mom and I watched countless historical documentaries and had endless conversations about different events and historical figures. These shared moments created a love of history which has blossomed into a deep-seated passion for the topic. Now as an adult, I spend a majority of my free time expanding my knowledge on different topics through books, articles, and documentaries. With the creation of History Hipsters, I am excited to share my gained knowledge and thorough book reviews with our readers.
